JB

Fourth of July is always scarey for dogs and for the homeless dogs of Downtown L.A., it's even scarier. They have no one to hold them and tell them it's going to be OK. And if they escape from a yard, they are rarely looked for. Such may have been the case for JB. We got a call from Downtown Dog Rescue shortly after the 4th about a homeless man who was taking care of many dogs that were running the streets. He had brought them all to a park and had started his own adoption business. JB was one of the pack the man was caring for and trying to "adopt out" and DTDR thought he would be perfect for The Squad. Of course we said yes and JB is now one of our pack. He's great with other dogs and is friendly with people. It is obvious that he has been without a square meal for quite some time because JB is underweight and can be protective of his food. Both these issues are being worked on. As for his true age, we are guessing... his teeth are wonderful and bright white but the stress of being on the streets has given him some grey hairs. So it's really hard to tell, but we are guessing about 3 years old. JB does walk nicely on a leash and has learned the SIT command. He is also quiet and calm in a crate. All in all, this is one great dog who has won the hearts of everyone at Paw'd Squad and the kennel where he is currently residing. We are asking that only experienced Rottweiler people apply for JB.
