Tira

We got a call from Rottweiler Rescue about a puppy in Bakersfield who was blind and had deformed legs. Sounded like our kind of puppy and Tira joined the Squad on 12/22/08. She has limited vision and her legs are NOT deformed. The front legs are just slightly bowed from improper nutrition but they will straighten up with good food, sunshine and moderate exercise. Her vet says that she may even regain more sight. Right now she is "legally blind" (can't drive a car) but she uses eco-location to find her way around. It's amazing... she barks, tilts her head, and then takes off! Tira has mastered her foster home and even runs up and down the back porch steps to join the other dogs outside to play! She is well-adjusted, happy and adorable. The one thing she doesn't search for is food... this pup can eat! In the week she has been in foster care, she has gained 2 pounds!
